Welcome to the North West Supported Return to Training (SuppoRTT) Programme
Postgraduate Doctors, Dentists and Public Health practitioners in training who are out of programme for any reason for 3 months or more, but anyone with a shorter break can access SuppoRTT if they feel it will help them
Parental leave, long-term sickness, OOPs, breaks prior to starting a new programme (i.e. F3), bereavement, carers leave, disciplinary action etc.
IMGs new to the NHS in their first training post, or started in the last 6 months. GP IMGs who start their training in a practice and are moving on to a hopital placement.
Pre-Absence meeting 6-8 weeks before time out
Pre-Return meeting 8-12 weeks before RTT
Enhanced Supervision period (at least 10 working days)
Post-Return Review meeting 2-4 weeks after RTT
No SuppoRTT optional for those continuing clinical practice during their time out i.e. OOPT
Coffee Catch Ups - fortnightly Teams calls with our SuppoRTT Fellows for advice or socialising
RTT Socials - quarterly events for those taking time out of training to get together, learn more about SuppoRTT and socialise with others in similar situations (baby friendly)
