Many trainees take a period of absence from training for a number of reasons which can often vary in duration. This can include; Parental leave, OOP, Carers leave and Sickness.
HEE understands that regardless of the reason, returning back into training can be a difficult and stressful time for a trainee. However, you are not on your own, Health Education England and your School are here to support and guide you through this process. Please click here to download a copy of HEE's Supported Return to Training Report.
Policies and Guidance
Currently in the North West each School has their own Return to Training policy for trainees who have been out of programme for a period of 3 months or more; please contact your Educational Supervisor, F/TPD or Head of School for a copy.
In 2019-20 a single bid scheme will be open to applications throughout the year; the review panel will meet quarterly and the funds for successful bids will be paid in the subsequent LDA payment.
This year we are offering the opportunity for Local Education Providers to bid for funds to support administration (at band 4 level) of their SuppoRTT programme internally. As all funds from this year’s budget must be spent by 31st March 2020, we will only be able to support fixed-term posts and secondments. Further details can be found in the guidance document which can be dowloaded below and is also embedded in the Bid Template.
The next LDA will be paid in June so if you would like your bid to be considered for this payment please submit your bid by Thursday 23rd May 2019.
HEE NW offers trainees who are out of programme the opportunity to claim their travel expenses for attendance at activities related to their return to training, including KIT days. Please complete the below form and return to SuppoRTT.firstname.lastname@example.org.
