I am a part time general practitioner working in a three partnered practice in Hadfield, Derbyshire. I have been involved in medical education throughout my career, initially as an Anatomy demonstrator for medical students and more recently as a Primary Care Medical Educator for GPST1 & 2 on the Stockport Vocational Training Scheme. I have been a GP trainer since 2006 and attained the Postgraduate Certificate in General Practice Education in the same year.
I was appointed to the part time post of Associate Postgraduate Dean in August 2011. My portfolio roles include:
Supporting the Director of Medical Education at Pennine Acute NHS Trust to help ensure quality management of local postgraduate medical education.
Supporting Foundation year doctors
Working with the SAS doctors Advisory Group and supporting SAS doctors educational needs
Supporting the service interface between the Deanery and local Clinical Commissioning Groups.
I am also actively involved in commissioning and am a board member of Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group with a jobshare role as Clinical Lead for Urgent Care.
