North West Leadership Schools

The North West Leadership Schools (NWLS) are an initiative of Health Education England North West (HEE NW).  Each year we run a series of free events, workshops and lectures with the aim of inspiring and developing leadership skills in medical and dental trainees.

The NWLS have three regional sub-committees: Cheshire and Merseyside, Cumbria and Lancashire and Greater Manchester.  Each sub-committee is responsible for organising smaller “after work” events as well as collaborating on the annual NWLS Conference.

NWLS Conference 2023

Leading Sustainable Change Monday 26 June 2023 | Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel | FULLY BOOKED | Programme

If you wish to be added to the waiting list please email

The NWLS Conference will be a brilliant opportunity to learn about sustainable leadership and think about how you can initiate grass roots projects within your area of healthcare, as well as to network with likeminded peers. The day will feature key note presentations by inspiring leaders from the world of sustainable healthcare, as well as smaller workshops centred around team building and leadership development. There will also be a leadership skills workshop from Chimp Management, the company inspired by The Chimp Paradox, credited as the successful mindset of many of our most inspiring international leaders. Sucessful posters on sustainablity and leadership will be on display, and 3 trainees will be invited to present on their poster.

As we cannot always guarantee that resources will be available after events, the best way to access the information is to register and attend the NWLS sessions.

*Please note - The courses outlined in the booklet have been provided for information by NWLS only and HEE NW does not endorse the content of any of these courses.
