The programme will be split with time in between the workshops for the delegates to practice the skills involved in mentoring. Delegates select a student/trainee or new member of staff to apply the mentoring skills learnt on the workshop. A psychometric test would be included within the first workshop for delegates to gain a greater understanding of individual differences and preferences. The programme will be accredited by the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) to encourage staff to become mentors and to recognise the skills and knowledge they will gain. The skills obtained within the programme will be applied to the different situations.
