Associate Director GP

I am a GP at a large training practice in Wigan which is where I was born and brought up. I entered Medicine late having done an Arts degree and then having taught at secondary level for 5 years.

Once in practice, I became involved in educational and clinical supervision and then became a course organiser in Manchester. I was appointed as an Associate Director in 2007 and my “patch” covers Preston, Blackpool and West Lancashire.

Apart from teaching on various courses and masterclasses for the Deanery, I have a responsibility for retainee GPs and a particular interest in the Clinical Skills Assessment of the new MRCGP examination. I am a college examiner and sit on the case management group for the CSA.
